At Hebei Huayu Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd, our EDI Ultrapure Water Equipment delivers a fully automated solution for producing high-resistivity water without chemical regenerants. Designed for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and power-generation industries, these systems achieve resistivity above 17 MΩ·cm and TOC below 10 ppb under stabilized conditions.
Process Overview
RO Pretreatment: Reverse-osmosis units reduce dissolved solids to below 50 μS/cm, ensuring low ionic loading on the EDI modules.
Electrodeionization Stage: Composite stacks of ion-exchange resin beads and ion-selective membranes are activated under direct current. Cations and anions migrate continuously into adjacent concentrate chambers, regenerating the resin without acid or caustic cycles.
Final Polishing: A mixed-bed polishing module may be integrated downstream to remove trace ionic species and achieve the highest resistivity targets.
Control and Instrumentation
The system incorporates inline conductivity and resistivity probes, flow meters, and redox sensors. A touchscreen HMI displays real-time trends and alarms, while a PLC executes setpoint adjustments for voltage and feed-flow based on quality feedback. Remote-access functionality allows data logging and diagnostics via secure network protocols.
Construction and Materials
Module housings use high-density polyethylene or PVDF for chemical resistance, while piping employs electro-polished 316L stainless steel. Power supplies feature voltage stabilization to protect sensitive membranes. All materials meet ASTM and ISO standards for ultrapure-water service.
Operational Advantages
By eliminating chemical regeneration, our EDI equipment reduces operational hazards, simplifies waste handling, and lowers total cost of ownership. Continuous quality monitoring ensures that downstream processes—such as wafer rinsing, injectable drug formulation, or boiler feedwater—receive water meeting stringent specifications.
