Purpose and Environment
Mining operations demand robust water storage solutions for process water, dust suppression, and tailings management. Hebei Huayu Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd supplies fiberglass‐reinforced plastic (FRP) tanks engineered to withstand abrasive particulates, variable water chemistry, and remote installation conditions.
Material Selection and Fabrication
Glass fiber reinforcements are laid into molds using hand lay‐up or filament winding techniques, with polyester or vinyl‐ester resins selected for chemical resistance against ferric, sulfide, and alkaline waters common in mining. A UV‐resistant gelcoat protects against solar degradation, while internal gels coats prevent leaching of resin components into the stored water.
Structural Design
Tanks can be configured as single‐piece monoliths up to 50 m³ or assembled from modular panels bolted together on site for larger capacities. Internal baffles may be added to prevent wave action in sloped terrain, and steel or composite support frames elevate the tank above uneven ground. All joints use gasketed flanges rated for the local climate’s thermal cycling.
Maintenance and Longevity
Periodic inspections focus on checking for gelcoat cracks, fiber delamination, and seal integrity at joints. Cleaning can be performed with mild detergents and low‐pressure water jets. Hebei Huayu provides spare gasket kits and repair putties to address minor damage without tank removal, ensuring minimal downtime in critical mining operations.
