Process Train

  1. Preliminary Treatment

  2. Primary Treatment

    • Equalization Basin: Buffering flow and loading fluctuations; chemical dosing for pH adjustment.

  3. Secondary Treatment

    • Biological Reactors: Options include aerobic activated-sludge, Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR), or Membrane Bioreactors (MBR) selected based on effluent standards and footprint constraints.

    • Air Scour and Mixing: Fine-bubble aeration systems maintain dissolved-oxygen levels; mixers prevent dead zones.

  4. Tertiary Treatment

    • Filtration: Sand, multi-media, or ultrafiltration to remove residual solids.

    • Advanced Oxidation: UV/H₂O₂ or ozone systems for organic-compound reduction when required.

    • Disinfection: UV irradiation or chlorination ensures microbiological safety.

Design Considerations

  • Flow Rate and Load: Plants are sized for average and peak flows, with bypass options for high-peak conditions.

  • Space Constraints: Modular, skid-mounted systems minimize civil-work and accelerate installation.

  • Automation: PLC/SCADA platforms control pumps, blowers, chemical dosing, and solids handling, while providing remote monitoring and alarms.

Construction Materials
Recoating and linings (epoxy, polyurethane) protect steel tanks and channels from corrosive influents. Piping employs PVC, PP, or stainless steel as appropriate. Select components (e.g., blower housings, mixer shafts) are made of corrosion-resistant alloys.

Sludge Management
Produced sludge is thickened using gravity thickeners or dissolved-air flotation units, then dewatered via filter presses or centrifuges for disposal or beneficial reuse.
